ISLAMABAD: Pakistan strongly condemned the terrorist attack at a voter registration center in a mosque in Khost province of Afghanistan on Sunday.
A bomb blast killed at least 14 people and wounded more than 30 others.
“We are distressed and grieved at the loss of precious human lives. We express our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives and pray to Almighty Allah for early recovery of the injured,” Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“We express our support and solidarity with the people and Government of Afghanistan in this hour of grief,” it added.
Pakistan reiterated its condemnation of terrorism in all forms and manifestations, and its resolve to eliminate this menace.
Sunday’s bombing was the second attack on voter registration centers in Afghanistan in recent weeks.
In April more than 50 people were killed in a suicide bombing on a voter center in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, which was claimed by Islamic State (Daesh).
