DUBAI: Pakistan’s boxing star Muhammad Waseem made short work of his Filipino opponent Conrado Tanamor during their 52.5kg fight on Friday night.

Waseem, who holds an 8-1 record with six knockouts prior to the fight, connected with a three-left hand punch combination – the third one a crushing hook to the body – which sent Tanamor on the canvas during the first round, and the referee waving off the Filipino pugilist with a knockout loss.

Waseem’s 62-second road to victory at the 9-fight card billed as #RotundaRumble, organized by boxing promoter MTK Global, was similarly played earlier when Irishman Rohan Date gave his Indian opponent Pardeep Kharera a one-round pounding.

MTK Global is a boxing management firm with more than 100 fighters under its umbrella, including Tyson Fury, Billy Joe Saunders, Michael Conlan and Carl Frampton.
