Krispy Kreme doughnuts will soon be on sale in Cairo after the company announced plans to open a store in the Egyptian capital.

The iconic American brand is set to roll out ten stores across the North African country in the next year as part of its expansion plans.

Krispy Kreme Inc currently operates in 30 international markets, with 200 shops in countries including the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

The company saw its non-US sales growth more than double in the last quarter, prompting CEO Mike Tattersfield to make further international expansion a priority.

Krispy Kreme was bought by investment firm JAB, which also owns sandwich chains Pret A Manger and Panera Bread, in 2016 for SR5.6billion ($1.35 billion).

In July, the sweet treat business went forward with an initial public offering on the Nasdaq stock exchange and is currently valued at SR10.35billion.
