ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday raised petrol and high-speed diesel prices by more than Rs13 per liter for this week, reversing a series of recent reductions as renewed military tensions in the Middle East led to volatility in the global oil prices.
Pakistan had reduced fuel prices in June and again last week after crude oil prices fell in the wake of an interim peace understanding between the United States and Iran, but fresh military exchanges between the two countries have unsettled oil markets after prices had eased.
“The Government of Pakistan has revised the ex-depot prices of the petroleum products for the next week starting from 11th July, 2026 as per following details,” the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division said in a statement.
The ministry said the price of petrol had been increased by Rs13.18 per liter to Rs310.71, while high-speed diesel was raised by Rs13.80 per liter to Rs323.30.
Pakistan imports the bulk of its petroleum requirements and has been reviewing domestic fuel prices weekly since the beginning of the US-Iran war based on international oil prices and the rupee-US dollar exchange rate.
Fuel price changes have a broad impact on inflation by affecting transportation costs, electricity generation and the prices of goods across the economy.
