Last Saturday, our national team won against Indonesia 2-1 in Jakarta and with that, we ranked first in our group.
We did good and now we have to hold our collective breaths until October when the Asian World Cup qualifiers resume. Hopefully, we do even better then.
In the domestic league, the 23rd round starts tomorrow and I guess Hilal-Ittihad is the match to look forward to.
Frankly, Hilal's chance to win the league is impossible and Ittihad's low rank is making it less interesting. But because both teams have a good history of 10 years expect their fans glued to their matches.
Hilal wants to remain second in the league in preparation for next year's Asian Champions League and Ittihad needs to win for a better finish in the league. Another important match to see is Fateh's match against Hajjar in Ahsa where Fateh will be looking to seal its league title. It will be a derby match since both teams hail from the same city.
Hajjar is desperate to win to avoid relegation to the First Division. Hajjar's rank right now is just a little above bottom. Hajjar will be fighting for its life, with Fateh expected to take the championship. This should be an interesting match.
Other matches of this round will be Ahli vs. Ra'aed, Wehdah vs. Faisaly, Najran vs. Nassr, Shabab vs. Ta'awon, and Ittifaq vs. Sholah. I wish that we all enjoy watching this interesting round.
