Arab News is the most prominent and influential newspaper, and a school of journalism. We have been through so many important experiments, during which we have been keen to ensure professionalism and balance to the maximum of our capacity in our editorial policy and news coverage.
Arab News is a pioneering daily in the Arab region. It was founded more than 40 years ago. Since then, the daily has succeeded in becoming an important news reference to all those interested in following us and the regional news.
Over the years, the daily managed to achieve a quantum leap in terms of distribution and influence on public opinion. I was privileged to be the editor in chief of the daily over the past four years, and I was honored to work with the daily’s professional team. Together, we have been able to achieve significant success, not only in print, but also in the online version.
The Arab News website has become a leading news portal and a must reference for all news seekers, surpassing other prominent publications inside and outside the Kingdom, not to mention the progress that has been made on the daily’s social media platforms.
The daily’s professional progress has been based on providing its readers with distinguished content. It has worked relentlessly on addressing the audience in a very outstanding professional language, which opened the door wide to new audiences in different areas, both regionally and internationally.
Arab News is no longer just a newspaper. It has become part of the public opinion making; hence, we launched the Arab News Dialogue Center, hosting representatives from the Saudi business sector and diplomatic corps and senior Saudi officials to discuss the latest local and international developments.
Moreover, Arab News is currently working on establishing its own media training center, which will hopefully see the light of day before the end of the current year, and will contribute to injecting fresh and skilled journalists, who will be qualified to lead the media sphere in the Kingdom.
The success that the newspaper has been able to achieve thus far is genuinely attributed to the teamwork of its professional and dedicated staff, who have been working, and will continue to work in a harmonious spirit.
My confidence in Arab News and its staff is endless, and I have no doubt that the newspaper, under the leadership of its new Editor in Chief, Faisal J. Abbas, will continue to make bright and successful leaps.
As I am about to leave the daily to assume a new position within the group, I will not say farewell. Rather, I will be looking forward to a new beginning and a new hope.
