The Ministry of Commerce & Industry launched the official logo of the Riyadh Center for Small and Medium Enterprises Development at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.
The Deputy Minister for Industrial Affairs, Qasim Al-Maimany, said that establishing this center comes in compliance with government directives and objectives aimed at boosting the small & medium enterprises (SMEs) that are becoming a major element in supporting economic and social development plans.
Al Maimany pointed out that the center will play an important part in supporting efforts at developing SMEs to boost their role in providing job and investment opportunities for national manpower. Al-Maimany further pointed out that the importance of this sector in industrial development is reflected through the growing number of SMEs whose investment locally exceeded billions of Saudi riyals, pointing out that the ministry is keen to help in the development of this sector and that the national industrial plan included numerous plans to achieve that.
“We are counting on the role that the Riyadh Center for SME Development will play to develop this sector in spite of the difficulties and obstacles it will face," said Al-Maimany, adding that the ministry will stand behind the center in this mission, as well as the chamber at large.
