An event was held recently to mark the graduation ceremony of the Maharat program at the Higher Technical College. The Maharat program was jointly organized by Oman Air and Boeing. It was held with the support of Maitha bint Saif Al-Mahrouqiyah, undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism.
Mohsin bin Khamis Al-Balushi, adviser of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Oman Air board member, Khalid Ambusaidi, Dean of the Higher Technical College, and senior airline executives attended the event.
The program aims to raise the capabilities of new graduates and give them the skills and information required to prosper in today’s job market and work environments. It targeted 120 young Omani students.
The training was delivered by qualified instructors with long-term practical experience and focused on modern learning techniques which sharpen participants’ skills, promote team spirit and the importance of team values, improve self-confidence and provide opportunities to apply the newly-found skills in a practical setting.
The program also offered special training in the field of leadership, by defining concepts and entrepreneurial behaviors that encouraged participants to start their own projects.
The High Technical College in Muscat is one of seven technical colleges, supervised by the Oman’s Ministry of Manpower.
