July 21: Xinhua News states that Pakistan on Friday welcomed foreign observers for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Two observer groups from the European Union and Commonwealth are currently deployed to observe elections on July 25. Former President of Nigeria and Head of Commonwealth Observers Group, Abdulsalami Abubakar, called on Pakistan Foreign Minister Hussain Haroon at the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs and discussed matters relating to the forthcoming general elections, the Foreign Ministry said.
