DUBAI: Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bat in the decisive third one-day international against New Zealand on Sunday.
New Zealand suffered a huge blow when its captain Kane Williamson had to be rested because of minor groin strain. B. J. Watling replaced Williamson while New Zealand will be led by Tom Latham.
Fast bowler Matt Henry got his first match of the series, replacing experienced Tim Southee in the other change made by the tourists.
Pakistan also made two changes to the team that leveled the series on Friday with a six-wicket win at Abu Dhabi.
Opening batsmn Imam-ul-Haq was rested after he suffered a blow on the helmet off Lockie Ferguson’s sharp bouncer. Left-hander Haris Sohail also joined the playing XI.
Allrounder Imad Wasim made way for aggressive batsman Asif Ali as Pakistan looked to strengthen its batting line-up.
