Saudi ambassador to UK: We are working hard on a plan to get you home
  • Prince Khalid asked for patience until the embassy finds the right time to plan their return to Saudi Arabia

LONDON: Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the UK, Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan has assured Saudis in the UK that the Kingdom is working on a plan to get them home.

In a video posted by the embassy’s official Twitter account on Friday, Prince Khalid said: “I promise you, we are working on a plan to get you home to the Kingdom in the fastest way, and this is after government’s efforts, day and night, from allowing the virus to spread.

“I see this effort everyday from the inside the ministries and from outside embassies.

“We all need to all stand together as a barrier to halt the virus from spreading. For that, the return of 20,000 or 30,000 citizens all at once is not logical and not safe for you and your country.”

Prince Khalid asked for patience until the embassy finds the right time to plan their return to Saudi Arabia.

The ambassador also urged citizens to follow both Saudi Arabia and UK guidelines on dealing with the crisis - especially with the rise of fake news and rumors.

He said people should minimize outings to only exercise and essential grocery shopping, and to wash hands thoroughly and constantly.
