The Makkah Development Authority and the Ministry of Tourism signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation, support tourism development in the region, and improve the planning and implementation of joint initiatives and projects.

The agreement includes cooperation on studies to activate and rehabilitate tourism sites in the Makkah region, as well as the exchange of geospatial data and the linking of databases to support urban planning and improve decision-making.

The two sides will also collaborate on training programs, workforce development, community and volunteer initiatives, support for the nonprofit tourism sector in the Makkah region, and media efforts to promote the region’s tourism potential.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs continues to provide awareness and guidance programs for Umrah performers at Jabal Al-Rahmah and Namirah Mosque in Makkah.

The ministry has deployed preachers and multilingual interpreters at awareness booths to answer visitors’ questions, correct misconceptions, and distribute educational materials in several languages.

The initiatives aim to promote religious awareness, reinforce the values of moderation and balance, and highlight the Kingdom’s efforts to serve worshippers in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
