The second leg quarterfinals of the King's Cup resumes with Nassr taking on Ahli in Riyadh on the front end of back-to-back nights of tournament play tonight.
Nassr lost the first leg by 3-1 to Ahli, thus they need to win by 2-0 to qualify for the semifinal. It’s not impossible for Nassr to do it but it will be tough considering the half hearted play they did on the first leg. Actually, I think its more of overconfidence on their part and things went the other way to their surprise.
Ahli proved to be a tougher opponent than they expected. Nassr's new player who recently signed with them just for this championship did not help as well. Mohammad Noor had a penalty kick in the last minute that could have helped the team in the second leg if they made a goal. Unfortunately for them he didn't score, to add more pressure on the team.
As for the other matches tomorrow night , Hilal meets Ittihad in Riyadh, Ittifaq faces Fateh and Shabab clashes with Ra'aed.
The first match between Hilal and Ittihad ended in a 3-2 victory for Ittihad. Hilal only needs a 1-0 win to officially be in the semifinal, but it will not be easy for them.
In the past five years,Hilal seems to have difficulty winning a two legged match. As usual, when Hilal loses the first match, the management and their president will shrug and say "its just one match and surely, we will make it in the second match."
But he will never prepare his team the right way to overcome the loss and to actually win the second match. Nevertheless, it’s still my pick to watch for tomorrow night . I wish the deserving teams will make it to the semifinal.
