The Kingdom was still reeling from the impact of the dastardly terrorist attack on a mosque in Qatif, when the merciless and evil supporters of the self-ascribed Islamic State (IS) once again struck a mosque in Dammam last Friday.
These two terrorist attacks, almost in a row, indicate the level of intellectual and political bankruptcy of these terrorist organizations. It goes without saying that these unscrupulous elements are suffering from some kind of a psychological illness and are hell bent on passing on this destructive virus to others. Despite quoting verses from the Qur’an, these people are far from the truth and they don’t understand the true message of Islam. They only know the language of hatred and acts of violence.
The formation of these evil groups remains a mystery. Since the time of their inception, they are spreading terror, death and violence and that too in the name of Islam, which calls for mercy, appeals to reason, promotes civilized debate and encourages gentle persuasion.
These fanatics have misunderstood the true spirit of Islam by resorting to violence in their fruitless attempts to achieve their goals. By doing so, they have done unprecedented harm to Islam more than enemies of this religion. In fact, their proper place should be in mental hospitals and they should not be left free to disturb our security and distort our religion. They are self-hating people and they are killing themselves and others in the wrong places. Those who blow themselves up in places of worship are worse than stray animals. Even animals don’t harm anybody without any reason. They attack others only when they feel threatened or in the face of danger whereas these mindless people could attack and kill anybody without any reason.
The Iranian mullahs are wrong about Saudi Arabia. They cannot re-enact the Iraq, Lebanon, Syrian or Yemeni scenario in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia is a different country. No matter how hard the Iranian regime tries to foment unrest or sectarian strife in Saudi Arabia, Saudis will never fall for their evil schemes. Our leadership is fully capable of thwarting such attempts in the most appropriate manner.
If the Iran-backed sectarian militias are raising the slogan “Labbaik Ya Hussein” and committing atrocities against the Sunni people in Iraq, then why should anybody blame the Saudi Shiites for the crimes of those fanatics in Iraq?
Our leadership does not differentiate between the citizens and treat everybody equally without any discrimination on the basis of sect or tribe. They condemn the killing of a Saudi Shiite in the same manner they decry the killing of a soldier in Jazan or Najran at the hands of Houthi militias.
We appreciate the valor of our security men in foiling terrorist attacks. We should not leave our security men alone in this fight against the evil ideology.
We should extend all-out moral support to these unsung heroes who work day in and day out to protect the geographical and ideological borders of the Kingdom. It is due to the tireless efforts of our security people that we enjoy stability and peace in the Kingdom.
