We have developed the habit of criticizing everything without any solid reason. In our criticism, we sometimes tend to ignore even the achievements of an institution or an individual just because we don’t seem to understand or agree with a particular decision.
Recently, one of the Kingdom’s major educational institutions in the, which is undoubtedly an advanced fortress in defending our faith, came under fire from various writers because of its decision to introduce the system of unified enrollment. After some investigation, I discovered that the criticism was subjective and unfair.
It is possible that those who are unhappy with this procedure do not know that the unified enrollment is a system that is carried out digitally. This system takes into consideration strict steps based on competitiveness, distribution and capacity of the universities. With capacity, I don’t mean space or building but about colleges and specialization. In other words, there are some specializations that can’t accept more than 50 students in an academic year, depending on the number of faculty members and available courses. Consequently, the basis for any judgment is the unified digital system.
What happens here is that many students will not be accepted through this program either because they do not fill in the application form properly, or because they are late in applying or because they fail to meet the requirements. In this case, however, the university gives them a second chance to apply manually and not digitally to ensure that rejecting some applications has nothing to do with competitiveness, their grades or the capacity.
Hence, the rule is the digital system, and applying manually is the exception. This exception is commendable, because it takes the human factor into consideration. The media should be objective in its reporting decisions or events instead of criticizing haphazardly.
