The Human Resource Development Fund at the Labor Ministry will deposit SR 39.3 million in the bank accounts of 16,177 teachers in private schools on Wednesday, said Ibrahim Al-Moaiqel, director general of the fund.
“The amount is deposited as the fund’s share to their salaries for October,” he said. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has instructed the fund to give SR 2,500 to each private school teacher a month for five years.
The fund decided to pay the amount before the end of the month to help the teachers enjoy their Eid Al-Adha holidays.
Private schools have to apply for the fund’s assistance to pay salaries of their Saudi teachers. Al-Moaiqel urged those schools that have not yet applied for assistance to hurry up by entering information about their teachers through the fund’s website.
He said the teachers should be qualified to receive the assistance in accordance with the conditions set by the king’s decree. The move aims at increasing the salaries of private school teachers to SR 5,000 plus SR 600 transport allowance. The fund has been ordered to pay 50 percent of the salary.
