Saudi Arabia has been the most targeted country. Plots have always been hatched against it. The Kingdom is also being exposed to terrorist operations by certain organizations aiming to destabilize its security, and foment sedition, unrest and internal wars.
However, the Ministry of Interior has proved its ability to monitor many of these operations and abort them with preemptive actions. It has also succeeded in minimizing losses as has happened in the Al-Ridha Mosque attack when security men and citizens managed to foil the strike and minimize human losses.
Surprisingly, there are entities accusing Saudi Arabia of supporting terrorist groups even as events are proving that the Kingdom is the top-targeted country, and Daesh, Al-Qaeda and similar groups are making Saudi Arabia the first target to hit.
Without the mercy of Allah, Almighty, and the ability of the Saudi security agencies to identify and neutralize terrorist cells, the situation would be much more difficult. Through preemptive strikes, the Ministry of Interior has aborted more than 95 percent of terrorist operations.
In its latest announcement, the Ministry of Interior exposed, in detail, the terrorist cell which carried out the terrorist act at the Special Emergency Forces compound mosque in Abha and announced the names of wanted persons together with their photos.
Every citizen and resident is a security source because terrorist operations are a clear and present danger threatening all, irrespective of place, religion or color. It is, therefore, the collective responsibility in the face of this terrorist danger.
The high professionalism shown by the security forces in the face of terror makes citizens feel secure and, similarly, security institutions in foreign countries are looking at the Saudi experience with due admiration. Saudi Arabia, which is extensively dealing with security issues led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, has managed to impose a different style in this confrontation. There are centers of guidance (counselling) which aim to rehabilitate misled youngsters and bring them back to their senses so that they become useful and productive elements in the community.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior is using an iron fist in the face of terrorist violence, tracking down cells, arresting their accomplices, and bringing them to justice.
War on terrorism is a long process which requires an international effort. In this context, Saudi Arabia offered an initiative for the establishment of an international center for fighting terrorism, and further paid $100 million in a step aimed to rally organized international security and intelligence support in the face of terrorism everywhere. Only now, the world’s countries have felt the importance of cooperation and coordination between them after they witnessed crimes committed by Daesh and other terrorist organizations.
Saudi Arabia will decisively continue to fight terrorism. The Saudi people have proved that they are more cohesive than what others believe. Following each and every act of terrorism targeting the unity and cohesion of the country, the answer comes in the form of solid national unity. Terrorists will try to strike again, but it will always meet with the iron fists of our security forces and a cohesive and united nation.
