The whole world stands with France in the aftermath of the terrible moments on Friday evening. Paris, the City of Light, was subjected to terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of more than a hundred innocent people.

The filthy hands and minds behind the terror are the greatest threat to the world. Every country must fight the terrorists in every way to avoid the meaningless death and destruction they bring about.

Saudi Arabia and other Arab states have reacted to the horrors by showing compassion for the French people.

The Kingdom has described the act as “barbaric” and called for united efforts to vanquish terrorism. Let it not be forgotten that the Kingdom was one of the world’s first countries to face terrorism on its soil and expended major security efforts in the fight against it and its funding.

The late King Abdullah called for the establishment of an international center to fight terrorism and hosted an international conference in 2005 with that aim.

The Kingdom has subsequently supported the center’s strategy under the umbrella of the UN with contributions amounting to $110 million.

The heinous acts of terror in France are attacks on humanity and humane principles everywhere.

They are the products of an ideology that bears no relation to religion or culture.

The whole world must now stand with France; the international community must unite to eradicate terrorism and extremism.

The eradication of such evil is a joint international responsibility as well as an obligation.

Iran supports and funds militias in other countries instigating internal sectarian wars and conflicts that encourage terror and extremism. It is the responsibility of the international community to confront any state or any group that opens the gates to chaos, conflict and wars in the world.

We stand with France. The outpouring of Saudi and Arab grief on social media clearly demonstrates the horror at the deeds of terrorists.

We know that France, a country of high civilization and a long history, will not be frightened by these cowardly attacks on innocent people.

France has given the world some of the most powerful humanitarian values — liberty, equality and brotherhood. The power of those values cannot and will not be extinguished.
