First of all, I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their loved ones in the dastardly attacks carried out by Daesh in Paris. We pray for the speedy recovery of the injured people who had nothing to do with politics.
These cowardly terrorist attacks on the French soil were perpetrated against innocent people resulted in the deaths of around 127. The main purpose of such attacks is to terrorize the masses and render them psychologically weak. The terrorist organizations, be it Daesh, Al-Qaeda or else, are sadly mistaken, as these attacks will only strengthen the world’s resolve to fight terrorism with a new vigor.
Paris, the capital of France and the city of lights, is the birthplace of various scientific inventions that helped in turning the world a better place and also made lives of millions around the globe much better.
France and its people are very hospitable and never hesitate in raising their voice against any form of injustice anywhere around the world. It is due to this very reason that Saudi Arabia and its people stand by their French friends in these distressing moments.
It was Saudi Arabia that had taken the initiative to call on the international community to establish a comprehensive system to fight terrorism through an international center. The center would form joint international teams to fight the menace of terrorism around the globe.
Observers may recall that it was Saudi Arabia that had raised alarm over the dangers of terrorism not only in the Middle East but had also warned the world over the possibility of it reaching Europe and elsewhere. Saudi Arabia is the front-line state in the fight against terrorism and over the past few years many terrorist attacks have taken place in the Kingdom as well due to its strong position against the deviant ideology.
Let us go back to what happened in the French capital. Just a few weeks ago, Syria’s Mufti Ahmad Hasoon had threatened the United States and Europe with swift terrorist attacks.
Many analysts treated his statements as hollow threat issued to prop up support to Bashar Assad’s regime, which is effectively on life support and is likely to breathe its last in near future.
Hasson had clearly stated that undercover operatives were already on the move in Europe and the United States and were ready to strike civilians in case any western power attacked Syria. Let us be frank about how easily the infiltrators were able to enter Europe. During the past few months, hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria and other surrounding countries were able to cross into Europe. It is true that the European people and their leaders welcomed them but many had expressed feared about terrorists entering Europe in the garb of desperate refugees.
The terrorist organization, Daesh, which is already wreaking havoc on Muslims, has claimed the responsibility for the attacks but the obvious beneficiaries are the Syrian regime and its Persian backer. Syria is in turmoil and it is in their benefit to see the entire world turning into a cauldron of chaos. It is also one of the effective diversionary tactics. They are fully aware of the fact that these terrorist attacks in Paris will prove to be a game changer. The attacks must have been planned outside France but were carried out with the help of sleeper cells within.
The worsening situation in Syria and continuous Iranian interference has contributed to the spilling over of terrorists and terrorism not only to the neighboring countries like Lebanon, Egypt and Iraq but also to other continents.
The latest attacks in Paris should be taken very seriously and efforts should be made to avert more attacks in Europe. These coordinated attacks indicate the presence of terrorists on the European soil, which is a big reason to worry.
It has become all the more important for the entire world to increase efforts to effectively fight terrorism.
These attacks took place shortly before the Vienna summit on Syria and before one of the most important moots that is supposed to discuss yet another important problem facing the world. Yes, I am talking about the United Nations Climate Change due to be held in Paris.
Terrorism has no borders and its threats are global. This is why it is important for people and counties around the world to unite and eradicate it.
