Room for improvement

This refers to the letter “Uncalled for criticism” (Dec. 23) by Seif A. Somaliya. I think Seif misunderstood my letter. On the contrary I have a high regard for Farouq Luqman and his articles. Also, it is a fact that every article of anybody cannot have perfection. After all we are human beings.

There is always a room for improvement. Even greats like Shakespeare and William Wordsworth had some deficiencies in their writings as per critics. Urdu greats like Ghalib and Iqbal were also criticized by critics.

What I meant in my letter was that Luqman’s article on Dilip Kumar had no deftness, we usually see in his other articles. I think had he taken a face-to-face interview that work would have been more valuable. — Anees Lokhande, Alkhobar
