A Saudi modern art exhibition will be staged at the Kuwait Fine Arts Society’s gallery beginning today. Organized by the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information, the exhibition will showcase more than 60 works of 35 Saudi artists including women.
Nasser Al-Hujailan, deputy minister for cultural affairs, said his ministry organized the 15-day show as part of its support for painting and fine arts. He commended the support of Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja to the exhibition.
Al-Hujailan described the Kuwaiti show as one of the most important Saudi art exhibitions in the country reflecting the remarkable progress achieved by Saudi painters and their skills in modern arts.
The exhibition will be held under the patronage of Kuwaiti Information Minister Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al-Sabah.
The exhibition comes following a similar Kuwaiti art show in Jeddah and Riyadh, which was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information two months ago to strengthen cultural relations between the two GCC countries.
Abdul Rasul Salman, who headed the Kuwaiti delegation of artists, commended the progress achieved by Saudi painters. “Saudi artists have achieved international standards,” said Salman, who is chairman of the Federation of Gulf Fire Arts Societies.
