HotSpot: The Russian rape ruse
What is it with people in power that so many of them think raping a woman that offends them is an option of revenge? It has to be said that that savagery is still so much a part of the mental make up of the male species.
Imagine you are a political leader, a CEO, the boss of your business, whatever and one of your female staff makes an error. Would you order her to be raped by your cronies as a punishment? You’d think not.
Now, let’s take what just happened.
A 67-year-old MP from Russia, Vladimir Zhirinovsky was holding a normal press conference. One of the journalists, a six-month pregnant lady asked him about the invasion of Ukraine. He so lost it you know how his mind worked, he ordered his two henchmen to grab her, take her to the other room and rape her.
His exact words in the video: ‘When I say, you run to her and violently rape her.’
And he said this in front of a dozen other journalists, out aloud.
What sort of mindset is this?
Of course, now everyone is getting in on the act but look at the man’s arrogance, he even has a spin doctor work on his reasoning. He was upset because a deadly gunfight at a Ukraine checkpoint controlled by pro-Russian separatists tore apart an Easter truce.
OK, fine, you were upset, Sir, about the violence so you countered that by ordering more violence on a woman doing her job.
Did that make you feel better, more macho, more vindicated.
The girl is in hospital being treated for shock. In her condition. So much for Russian chivalry. The oddest part: He has not even been taken to task.
“Due to the disgusting incident in the state duma, after which our correspondent was hospitalized because of Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s discourtesy, we have decided to use all legal options to punish Mr. Zhirinovsky as severely as possible under the law, including by suing him,” said General Director Margareta Simonyan.
Odds are it will all be water under the bridge and nothing will happen.
It never does, does it?
The man had the temerity to come out in hours with a defense? Beat that for arrogance.
