JEDDAH: The Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB) on Thursday launched the new and improved website of Saudi Arabia’s project for utilization of Haj meat, Adahi, for Haj 2016 at IDB headquarters in Jeddah.
Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, president of the IDB, launched the new website www.adahi.org during a meeting with officials in charge of Haj affairs at embassies and consulates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Ali explained that the new website will facilitate pilgrims in performing the rituals comfortably and easily. The portal provides all types of Haj services, and Haj missions can purchase livestock direct from the accredited marketers for their pilgrims through this website.
The project aims to serve pilgrims by providing livestock that meets all Shariah and health requirements, and by ensuring the cleanliness of the environment around the holy sites.
Ali said that there is a team to follow up on the project and implementation of the rituals. Pilgrims can purchase the sacrificial meat in three easy steps: Select the ritual type, pay through SADAD or credit card, and a coupon will be issued for the payment.
He urged officials of Haj missions and those in charge for Haj affairs at embassies and consulates in Saudi Arabia to cooperate and guide their pilgrims to buy the electronic coupons directly from the project website or from designated outlets in Makkah, Madinah, holy sites and various outlets in the Kingdom.
He said pilgrims also can buy the coupon from Saudi post offices, branches of Al-Rajhi Bank, Haj and Umrah associations, charities in Makkah, Mobily company offices and from security services companies. The newly designed website provides information in three languages, Arabic, English and French. The website also provides information about the coupon categories.
This year the basic price of sheep will be SR460 per head. The project team will notify the pilgrims by text message or e-mail about the completion of their purchase, and also will provide the report on the follow-up of performing the sacrifice to manage the project on time, he said.
Around 40,000 staff are working on the project, and they range from doctors, veterinarians, religious supervisors, administrators, butchers and general assistants, as well as a technical team assigned to the facilities’ maintenance, operations, management, supply and medical care of the staff.
