‘Walking Eagle!’

‘Walking Eagle!’

If there is anyone who could spoil my day when I read something about him in the media, he is none other than Tony Blair! And it was no different experience, when I read your editorial, ‘Blair shows no remorse,’ on Friday morning.
I wonder whether I am allergic to this name as some people used to react to animal dander on other’s clothing experiencing itching, hives, congestion or sneezing. I feel the same or worse, whenever I come across his name.
However, an e-mail I received from one of my close friends relieved me from this condition. It read: “On a trip to the United States, Tony Blair addressed a gathering of Native American Indians. He spoke for almost an hour on environment. At the conclusion of his speech, the crowd presented him with a plaque, inscribed with his new Native American Indian name: ‘Walking Eagle’. Excited Blair then departed in his motorcade, waving to the crowds. A news reporter later asked one of the Native American Indians as to how they had come to select the new name that was given to Tony Blair. He explained that ‘Walking Eagle’ is the name given to a bird, so full of shit that can no longer fly. Thank God I got my appetite back in time to enjoy my Friday morning breakfast! - S.H.
