Death bazaar (Part 1)

The human brain is the most complex matter in the universe.
We do not, and I suppose will not, know all the complexities of the human brain, neither can we foretell how many extraordinary things can a person do if we were able to utilize more of its computational power. We do know that some of the mind’s functions may suffer for some pathological reasons, we also know that it turns itself off when it faces one of the legendary powers: Temptation!
A few weeks ago, a young man in Colorado entered one of the most crowded cinemas and opened his automatic gun to kill many innocent souls, whose only crime was watching the new ‘Batman’ film. That young man was not a criminal nor did he have a criminal record. On the contrary, all those who knew him testified that he was extraordinarily gentle and shy. The rector at his university said that he was one of the best students. He was the ‘golden boy’ who lives the best span of his lifetime, and awaits a very promising future. But something tempted him, because his decision was not that sudden, neither did he drink something that made him lose his conscience.
But temptation overwhelmed him, and he enthusiastically planned his killing spree. He collected mass-killing weapons; in fact, he legally bought them. This is one of the biggest crises of American society, in which you can find many shops that sell weapons on any street. It is true that human minds, for one physiological reason or another, can lose itself to temptation. A temptation that some people may envisage as trifle, whereas another person may sacrifice his life for it, as he sees it to be the height of pleasure.
The easy availability of weapons, the deeply ingrained instinct to kill, coupled with taking the people by surprise are the basis for fulfilling the urges of temptation, and blocking the ‘frontal lobe,’ an extremely important lobe in the brain, whose main task is to provide man with wisdom, balanced thinking, logical calculation, but can also urge a man to do something inexplicable.
For example, those who kill people feel an interim pleasure, if even for a few seconds for which they pay for with their lives.
When killers take innocent people by surprise, their reasons are usually superficial.
They do it for the sake of a strange savage satisfaction that is motivated by deep reasons which we normal people, cannot begin to comprehend. It is a feeling that makes the killer’s only concern and dream, is to kill or explode innocent people to reach the climax of his ultimate pleasure. I believe that without this environment where weapons are easily available, reduces the intensity of the temptation to kill.
